Even when you are standing still, you’re moving. This is because the Earth and everything in our solar system is always on the go. The Sun is the center of it all. It takes the Sun 25 days to completely rotate around while the Earth takes 24 hours to rotate. As the Earth rotates, causing day and night, it is also revolving around the Sun. This orbit takes 365 ¼ days to complete. As the Earth orbits the Sun, the Moon is orbiting the Earth. It takes the Moon 27 ½ days to orbit the Earth, but since the Earth is always moving it takes the moon two extra days (29 ½) to come back to the same place in our sky. When they all line up, a Lunar or Solar Eclipse occurs. Stay in orbit with this cosmic charm.
